Maintenance Is Key to Survival

Because turf is a living plant, it’s essential you follow proper maintenance practices. When we deliver your Kentucky bluegrass sod, it needs ground contact and moisture to survive. So we install it immediately. Watering will begin within 30 minutes of installation.

To keep your sod healthy and strong, follow these additional steps:

1. Walk the area after a week.
2. See If the soil is dry enough to carry the weight of the mower without leaving ruts.
3. Mow about one week after installation.
4. Cut no more than a third of the height of the fresh grass.
5. Fertilize on a routine basis.
6. Avoid using quick-release fertilizer in your lawn.
